the Trealist (an explanation/definition)
“Treal” is a word coined by the deceased San Francisco Bay Area rapper Mac Dre (real name Andre Hicks) which combines the words ‘real’ and ‘true’ to create a hybrid adjective that is, by definition, beyond the scope of each word individually. “Trealist” refers to the most “treal.” In actual use these words could be considered counterproductive to their definition because they are generally used in reference to a noun’s persona, opposed to its anima. On the other hand, if an outward projection of a noun is considered authentic, these adjectives become legitimate by association. Within this context my work is a physical manifestation of a perceived, oppose to actual, representation of objects encountered in popular culture that I have formed opinions of through primarily indirect contact.
